Please ensure you read, fully understand and accept the fishery rules posted on our website and these terms conditions prior to booking. If anything is unclear, please contact us so we can explain in further detail to avoid misunderstandings.
Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions.
 
  • Bookings cannot be made by people under the age of 18 years.
  • It is the responsibility of the person making the booking to ensure that all anglers and guests read, fully understand and accept the fishery rules and these terms and conditions.
  • Anglers can bring non-fishing guests however there is an absolute maximum occupancy of 6 people allowed on fishery.
  • All anglers and guests agree to abide by the fishery rules. Any individual in breach of the rules will be asked to leave the venue without refund.
  • The management accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, damage or theft to persons, cars or equipment whilst on site. Those using the site do so at their own risk.
  • Only those anglers, guests and their vehicles booked on are allowed on site. Anglers must not allow access to anyone else, and the gate must be locked at all times. The lake, carpark and facilities are monitored by CCTV for the prevention and detection of crime. Anyone not booked on caught visiting the site will be treated as trespassers.
  • The management reserves the right to check anglers and guest vehicles for fish moving equipment such as water tanks, nets, slings, mats, cradles etc. Please do not bring these on to the site.
  • A non-refundable 20% deposit is payable at the time of booking. Bookings made less than 30 days before the start of your session must be paid in full. The balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the commencement of your session. If the balance is not received by the due date, then your booking will be treated as cancelled and your deposit forfeit.
  • All cancellations must be notified in writing. If you cancel your booking more than 30 days before the start date, then your deposit will be forfeit. If you cancel less than 30 days before the start of your session, then the full balance is due and non-refundable.
  • We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover your cancellation losses. If you choose not to then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
  • We reserve the right to refuse a booking without giving a reason.
  • *Spawning / Frozen lake* If you are booking the lake during the summer or winter months you need to be aware that the management may have to cancel your booking due to a frozen lake or for spawning fish. If this happens before your session, we will give you a full refund. If it happens during your session all fishing must cease immediately, management notified, and a partial refund given on a pro-rater basis depending on how long you have fished for. 
  • In exceptional circumstances the management may have to cancel your booking particularly for safety reasons. If this happens, we will notify you as soon as possible and a full refund given.
  • In the event your session is cancelled by the management our liability for cancellations will be limited to payments made to us.
  • Damages – please treat the venue, fish and facilities with due care so that other anglers can enjoy them. If you notice something is damaged, missing or a dead or dying fish please notify the management immediately.  If any damages occur maliciously or due to negligence or contravention of the rules a claim to recover any cost incurred as a result of the damage will be brought against the person booking the venue by Matt Mole Fishing Ltd. 
  • Please do not put anything other than toilet paper down the toilet especially chemicals. It will cause damage to our system. Please put the paper hand towels in the bins provided. There are no facilities to dispose of chemical toilets on site, please do not bring them.
  • If any keys are not returned at the end of your session, then the cost of replacement will be charged to the person booking the session.
  • Any complaints you may have regarding your stay please report it to management and we will strive to put it right. Any complaints not reported at the time and only reported after you have left the venue will not be entered into.

                                                                                                                  HEALTH and SAFETY

  • All visiting anglers and guests should make themselves aware of the risks they face in the surroundings they find themselves and carry out their own dynamic risk assessment which generally amounts to common sense. They should take appropriate action to ensure their own safety and that of others. It is a requirement that all anglers and guests read understand and accept this safety risk assessment statement. Please report any hazards you find to management so that mitigating measures can be put in place.
  • The access road to Field Aston Reservoir is a private working farm track. This is regularly used by very large and heavy tractors, plant and machinery. Please keep your speed to a max of 10mph when using this road, be vigilant for farm machinery, pedestrians and cyclists and where possible give way. Please keep to a speed of 5mph when using our carpark.
  • In case of an emergency where an ambulance, police or fire brigade is required a member of the party must walk to open the first farm gate and meet the emergency vehicle to guide in the crew.
  • WARNING the water is deep, weedy and the lakebed shelves away very steeply. No swimming or wading is permitted. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times and under 16s must fish in the same swim as the accompanying adult. Children under the age of 10 are not permitted at the venue for safety reasons. 
  • DO NOT leave children under the age of 16 alone at a peg. If you need to go somewhere either leave them with another adult over the age of 18 or take them with you. 
  • The stock ponds are also deep and the banks very steep. These are out of bounds and must not be approached. There are life-rings situated around the lake and stock ponds for use in an emergency. 
  • Please do not walk up and down the dam walls, they are steep, slippery and uneven. Please use the steps or the roadway.
  • Field Aston Reservoir is set in a rural location and the majority of the grounds are a ‘green space’. As when in the countryside slips trips and falls are prevalent and you should be aware of uneven and slippery ground throughout the site, especially during adverse weather conditions. Please also remain vigilant for any sharp, stinging or poisonous flora / fauna. 
  • Banks can be unstable and there are drops hidden by reedbeds and foliage. Fish from designated pegs only. No “stalking”.
  • In order to maintain a peaceful, undisturbed environment for the diverse wildlife no external lighting is present around the reservoir. Please ensure you bring headtorches and/or other temporary lighting to navigate at night.
  • Trees: Fishing under trees can be unsafe in windy conditions. Beware of falling branches. Be vigilant for storm damaged areas where trees and their surroundings are unsafe. DO NOT climb any trees on site.
  • Animals and insects: Beware of ticks and stinging insects with special relation to Lyme’s disease. Look out for the tell-tail red “bullseye” bite mark which can appear from between 3 -30 days after a tick bite. If you have a tick embedded or have a red mark, seek medical attention as soon as possible. Wiels Disease / leptospirosis is transmitted in rats’ urine. Make sure you wash your hands and protect any open cuts you may have when at the water’s edge.
